How it works

From catalogue to confident shortlist.

Bloodstock AI looks for every indicator in a horse, writes up what it found, and puts a score out of 100 beside it. Here is how that fits the way you already work a sale.

The workflow

How you work a sale with it.

01 · Open

Open the catalogue

Every sale and book in one place. Take a whole book offline before you travel, and it keeps working at the stables with no signal.

02 · Read

Read our read on every lot

A written read with a score out of 100: what we're confident about, what no one can predict, and a fair value range that stays private to you. Until there is enough data it says "not yet scored" rather than guessing.

03 · Work

Work your shortlist

Blackbook the horses you care about with your own notes: what you saw, what to check, who to call. Set a buying program per client or goal, and compare shortlisted lots side by side.

04 · Ring

Sale day

Vet room findings surface inside each lot's report, your client report is print-ready, and sale day mode keeps your shortlist in front of you when the ring opens.

Inside the report

Every score, explained.

We believe an insight you can't understand is an insight you can't trust. Every number in a Bloodstock AI report comes with the reasons behind it, a confidence level, and a note on what data it's based on.

01 · The read

Our read, in writing

The headline read on the lot, written in plain English, with the score out of 100 and the data it rests on. It updates as data arrives.

02 · Soundness

Soundness

Movement signs, tendon loading and risk read from every film in the x-ray set, each graded on its own with the reason beside it, and your vet pointed at the right films.

03 · Value

A fair range, private to you

A value range built from comparable sales in the same catalogue. It is a decision aid for you, and it is never shown to vendors or other buyers.

04 · Honesty

What no one can predict

Every report separates what we are confident about from what nobody can measure at a sale. Raw racing ability comes down to training, racing luck and the horse itself.

05 · Value

Value guidance

An expected price band to plan your budget against, always shown as a range with its uncertainty, never a false single number.

06 · Risk

Risk indicators

Clear low / moderate / high flags where the analysis sees something worth a closer look, with the reason spelled out.

07 · Overall

Overall view & buy rating

Everything brought together into a single at-a-glance rating, with the full reasoning one tap away.

Important: Bloodstock AI's risk indicators are decision-support tools, not veterinary diagnoses. Where a concern is flagged, we always recommend inspection by a qualified veterinarian.

Built for sale day

Designed for the stables, not the boardroom.

Sales are fast, bright, noisy and often short on signal. Bloodstock AI is built for exactly that.

Speed

Instant everything

Lot lookup, search and filters respond immediately, with no waiting between stable blocks when a horse is about to walk.

Coverage

Works offline

Your catalogue, shortlist and notes stay available even when coverage drops out at the complex. Everything syncs when you're back online.

Handling

Use it with one hand

Big touch targets and a fast note-taking flow, because your other hand is usually holding a catalogue, or a lead rope.

Process

Structured inspections

Checklists, tags and photos keep every inspection consistent, and easy to review when you're deciding between your top picks.

Vet

The Vet room

X-ray, vet and gait findings live in one place, and surface inside each lot's report where you actually need them.

Output

The client report

Turn your shortlist into a branded, print-ready report for the client or the syndicate, ready before the ring opens.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does Bloodstock AI replace my own judgement or my agent?

No, and it's not meant to. Bloodstock AI is decision support. It helps you cover the whole catalogue, spot horses you might otherwise miss, and organise your inspections. The final call is always yours, and agents get just as much value from the platform as buyers do.

How do I know I can trust the scores?

Because we show our reasoning. Every score comes with the key reasons behind it and a confidence level, and we tell you when data is missing or thin. If you disagree with a score, you can see exactly why it was given.

Is this a veterinary service?

No. The AI reads the films for risk indicators and checks the vet report against them, but its findings are decision support, not diagnoses. We always recommend a qualified veterinarian for any lot you're serious about.

Which sales are covered?

We're launching with New Zealand Bloodstock's Karaka sales, with more sales to follow. Join early access and tell us where you buy: it directly shapes our roadmap.

Will it work at the stables with bad reception?

Yes. The app is built offline-first: your catalogue, shortlists and notes are stored on your device and sync automatically when you're back in coverage.
